COURSE DESCRIPTION

The 7.23-mile course kicks off at the base of the K-1 Gondola. With 3,133 feet of elevation gain, you’ll end up summiting three of Killington Resort’s six peaks before the end of your run. You’ll start off towards Snowdon Peak, snaking up rugged work roads before embarking on a steep climb to your first peak of the day at 1.2 miles in. After circling the top of the Snowdon Six, you’ll head towards Killington’s North Ridge area, first along more service roads before another steep climb up the aptly named Ridge Run. You’ll then make a quick trip into the woods towards Cooper’s Cabin, the highest shelter on Vermont’s historic Long Trail. Following a brief trek on both the Long Trail and the Appalachian Trail, you’ll reach Killington Peak, the highest point in the race at 4241'ft, where you’ll be surrounded by stunning panoramic views of the Green Mountains. Catch your breath before beginning your 2.5-mile descent, first by zooming around Skye Peak to reach Bear Mountain Peak, another spot for gorgeous views. Your journey continues down Bear Cub through the steepest downhill section of the course and past the Bear Mountain Lodge before a long, steady trip up Bearly and back down towards the Northbrook area. At the 6-mile mark, you’ll endure your last sharp ascent up Vertigo before reaching the top of the Needle’s Eye Quad. Finally, a trip down Bittersweet will have you feeling just that way before passing the bottom of the Superstar chairlift and finishing out the race right where you started.
